We supply and install luxury vinyl plank (LVP) for living rooms, bedrooms, basements, kitchens, laundry rooms and stairs, and finish it with new baseboards and trim. We have samples you can look at before you choose (see our vinyl plank styles), so one call covers the flooring and the install. Already bought your flooring somewhere else? We install that too. Styles of Tiles is based in Port Dover.
Here is the vinyl plank work we do, in plain terms. One job can include any mix of it.
This is where our part of a vinyl plank floor starts and stops, so you know what to expect and who to call for what.
We check the floor is flat and ready, plan the layout so the rows run straight and the end joints are staggered, then lay the planks, cutting in around doorways, cabinets and vents. We leave the expansion gap the flooring needs at the walls and cover it with baseboards and quarter round, with transition strips where the new floor meets another one. If furniture or appliances are in the way, we move them.
We don't do plumbing. If the floor under the plank needs structural repair, like sagging joists, that is a contractor's job, and it has to be done before we start.
Vinyl plank comes in light, grey and dark wood looks, and it suits most rooms in the house, stairs included. Baseboards, trim and transition strips finish it off. Click any photo to see it full size.
From Port Dover we travel to tile and flooring jobs in Simcoe, Delhi, Waterford, Port Rowan, Jarvis, Turkey Point, Hagersville, Caledonia and the towns in between.
Either way. We supply vinyl plank as part of the job and have samples you can look at, with no obligation to buy from us. If you already bought yours, it doesn't matter where: Home Depot, RONA, Costco, a flooring store or online. We install it. Tell us the product name on the box and how many square feet you have, and send photos of the rooms.
Most vinyl plank is a floating floor that clicks together, so it goes in much faster than tile. A typical job takes 1 to 4 days, depending on the size of the floor. Ask when you call for your quote and we'll tell you what to expect for your job.
Yes, as long as what is under it is prepped properly. We install over concrete, like a basement slab, and over existing floors. The floor has to be flat and solid first, and getting it there is part of the job. Whether an underlayment goes under the plank depends on the floor and the product. Tell us what is on the floor now when you ask for a quote.
Yes. New baseboards and quarter round are usually the last step of a vinyl plank floor, and they are what makes the job look finished. We install them and paint them. Tell us when you ask for a quote if you want them.
The planks themselves are waterproof, but standing water can get down through the seams to the floor underneath. That is why we recommend tile for full bathroom floors, and vinyl plank or tile for kitchens, laundry rooms and basements. Our vinyl plank vs tile article goes through it room by room.
Photos of the rooms and rough measurements are the best start. Tell us whether you want us to supply the flooring or you have your own, what is on the floor now, whether there are stairs, and whether you want new baseboards and trim. That is usually enough for us to tell you what the job involves.
Call, text or e-mail โ we'd love to hear about your project and get you a no-obligation estimate.
